This blockbuster
movie adaptation of comic artist Ma Wing-Shing's most
famous work "Chinese Hero" is an extravaganza
of martial arts and special effects. The protagonist,
Hero, is a righteous swordsman destined for solitude. His
family and his whole village are massacred by foreign
troops. His wife is killed by his enemies after giving
birth to twins. His mentor, the invincible martial artist
Pride, dies in a duel. Convinced that anyone who gets
close to him will suffer calamity, he refuses to reunite
with his son. But unknown to him, Mu, a Japanese girl who
loves him truly, secretly follows him wherever he
roams...
